About This Project
The new port built at mundra by the adnai group of
industries required a Port operations building to manage the entire port. In all the ports around the country a port operations building is a run down utilitarian building. Our approach towards the building was to make it a outstanding building on the port which would be visible from the entire port.
The program given by the client was changed by Burt hill to add a surveillance tower which was 80 meters high, The challenge with this building was to build it on a wet sandy foundation in a earthquake zone 5 region.
The surveillance room on top of the tower faces the sea front and the approach to the building is from the split in the center of the building, The entire plinth of the building is raised to accommodate the parking below the building,
My role in the project was to design the entire building from scratch along with another project architect and to make construction documents.
