GUANGZHOU COMPETITION

Description

The CRCC called for a invited competition for their new head quaters in Gungzhuo. The total area of the building is 35000 sqm . The site of the proposed building is located at the corner of the famous gungzhuo gymnasium and the white cloud mountains. The main idea is to form a informal link between the city and the entrance to the white mountains which lies on south west corner of the gymnasium. The site has a very strict heigh ristriction of 12 m and hence the whole building needed to be sunk one floor below grade to achive the target area. The building is split in two parts , one being the headquaters and the rest being rentable office space.The project also had requirement to house a temporary bus parking on the south east corner which made it more challenging.

My Role

My role in the project was to conceptulize the overall massing and facades.
